The Lores Bonney Riverwalk project in Brisbane, Queensland, required an aesthetically pleasing and unobtrusive drainage solution. The client needed a system that offered fast and effective drainage, ensuring reliability and low maintenance throughout the walkway’s lifespan. Given the high pedestrian and cyclist traffic, the drainage system had to meet stringent safety and performance standards to prevent hazards associated with standing water.
We installed SPS 200/150mm Square Push-in Floor Drains, strategically placed along the 1.2 KM walkway. These drains, crafted from investment cast 316 stainless steel, feature hinged and lockable grates secured with M5 hex socket screws. They comply with multiple Australian standards, including AS 1428.2 for Heelguard grates and access and mobility, AS 3996 for load class and bicycle safety, and boast an AHSCA certified flow rate of 4.0 L/s at a 25mm head.
Compliance features:
AS 1428.2 compliant Heelguard grates
AS 1428.2 compliant for access and mobility
AS 3996 compliant for bicycle safety
Load Class C150kN (AS 3996)
AHSCA certified flow rate of 4.0 L/s (25mm Head)
The installation of over 600 SPS 200/150mm Square Push-in Floor Drains provided the Lores Bonney Riverwalk with a reliable and effective drainage system. This solution ensured rapid removal of standing water, enhancing the safety of cyclists and pedestrians. The design’s unobtrusive nature maintained the walkway’s aesthetic appeal while offering a durable, low-maintenance solution that aligned with the project’s long-term needs.
